The Mercedes-Benz A-Class lineup features two engine options, with the base engine being a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 variant. In its most basic configuration, the standard 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 pairs with a 7-speed dual-clutch automated transmission. Front-wheel drive is the base drivetrain, with all-wheel drive an available option. If the 188 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque produced by the base 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine is less than ideal, then drivers can step to an available 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 variant that manages 302 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.
Technology
In the technology realm, the Mercedes-Benz A-Class lineup provides drivers with ample options. The base A-Class A 220 trim level comes outfitted with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, five USB-C ports, Bluetooth connectivity, an HD Radio, a touchpad controller, and steering-wheel touch control buttons. Drivers after a more tech-forward version of the A-Class can look to a host of available upgrades. Drivers can swap out the standard 7-inch infotainment display for an available 10.25-inch infotainment display, and, if you're an audiophile, the A-Class offers up a Burmester surround sound system. Other tech highlights include In-car Wi-Fi, inductive wireless charging, MB navigation functionality, and augmented video for navigation.

The base A 220 trim includes a host of impressive interior features that range from functional essentials like dual-zone automatic climate control and folding rear seats to impressive convenience features like cruise control keyless-start, MB-Tex upholstery, and 64-color LED ambient lighting with illuminated vents.
